TIPS
for
DONATING BOOKS
- WHAT CAN WE USE?
- books (hardbacks, paperbacks;
fiction, non-fiction - all categories including children's)
- computer manuals, especially
with software
- audio-books, records,
tapes, CDs, videos, DVDs
- puzzles
- sheet music, art prints
- WHAT NOT?
- No encyclopedias older than 10 years
- No games
- No law tomes
- No magazines - with a few exceptions such as: Arch.Digest and
high quality craft & hobby
- No mildewed items (if you wouldn't give it to a friend, don't give
it to the Friends)
- No oversized boxes (lifting books in
boxes larger than a 'xerox' box is hard on the back!)
- No Readers Digest condensed books
- No text books with excessive ink underlining
or highlighting.
- WHAT FOR?
- You receive a tax receipt,
the gratitude of the Friends and Library, plus the satisfaction
of contributing to the library service in our community.
WHERE & WHEN? Please take donations to the Saratoga
Library
- Saratoga Library, 13650 Saratoga Avenue.
Look for the book return slot marked "donations".
If you require assistance from library staff to unload your vehicle,
please call 867-6126 for an appointment.
Library Hours: Sunday, 1-5, Monday
and Tuesday 1-9, Wednesday and Thursday 10-9, Friday and Saturday
10-6.
For extra large donations,
call the Book-Go-Round, (408) 867-5552,. Pick-ups may be arranged,
depending on availability of volunteers. Books must be boxed.
